Hello, adventurers!
We're thrilled to launch this blog as a way to share our journey with you – the ups, downs, discoveries, and magical moments that have shaped Tales for Two into what it is today.
We're a couple who love spontaneous adventures, cozy day trips, and laughing at each other's goofy moments. But like many people, we sometimes found ourselves doing the same old things on our days off - coffee, walk, dinner, repeat. We wanted a way to shake things up, to turn a regular day into something that felt like a memory in the making.
So we made a card game.
How Tales for Two Came to Life
Tales for Two started as a fun idea - a deck of prompts we could pull throughout the day to surprise each other, get out of our comfort zones, and explore the Netherlands (our home!) in a totally new way. It quickly grew into something we knew we wanted to share with others.
Each card in the game is designed to spark joy, laughter, connection, or adventure. Some will send you to new places, some will challenge you to do silly things, and others will invite you to slow down and soak in the moment. It's a mix of scavenger hunts, wild dares, food finds, cozy spots, and romantic twists - all illustrated with love and a storybook charm.
From Idea to Reality
We've spent the past year developing the cards, playtesting on mini trips (with lots of snacks) to bring the world of Tales for Two to life. Now we're ready to bring it to you - with your help.
We're in the process of setting up a Kickstarter that will fund our first full print run of the game, help us complete the remaining artwork and setup for the game, create customizable cards for couples, and get the cards into your hands by 2026. Along the way, we'll be sharing behind-the-scenes peeks, updates from us, and stories from couples who are already testing the game.
Whether you're longtime partners, newly dating, or just looking for more meaningful time together, Tales for Two is our love letter to real-life adventure - and we'd love to have you be part of it.
